Event Description:
The Volunteer Centre at Community First East Hampshire is looking forward to the Volunteer Awards on the evening of Thursday 29th April at the Alton Assembly Rooms. We are delighted that East Hants District Council’s Chairman, Councillor John Smith has agreed to host the event, and that the Dowager Countess of Clarendon DL is returning to present the certificates.
This is the first time that the event will be held in Alton, and is a fantastic opportunity for organisations that are situated in the north of the District to take advantage of the new location. Organisations have nominated as many volunteers as they wished, and all nominated volunteers will receive a certificate. Invitations to the event include at least one volunteer and the sponsor from each organisation.
One of last years recipients, volunteer Anne Lawrie had been helping out at the Crossover Youth Centre in Liss for 3 years. Anne said 'What a treat awaited those of us who collected our certificates last year, as we were entertained by two young musicians and enjoyed a delicious supper together”.
The evening’s entertainment is provided by winners of the East Hants Show Off competition and the light supper prepared by Rkdia.
Terry Bishop, Chief Executive of Community First said “we’re really looking forward to holding the event in the north of the District this year. It also happens to be Community First’s Fifth Anniversary so it will be a double celebration.”
