Return to sport with Chawton Bowls Club
Chawton Park Indoor Bowls Club Coaching team, in conjunction with East Hampshire District Council, is holding an introductory programme for adults.
Starting on Wednesday 14 October at 12pm - 2pm at Chawton Park Bowls Club, this ten week programme is an opportunity to learn new skills and tactics from a team of qualified coaches in a friendly setting. The course of ten sessions costs £3 per weekly session. After the initial registration, days and times can be flexible.
Every member of the club is being encouraged to introduce one person to the sport so that the coaching team can make it even more successful than last year when it was the most successful course in Hampshire. Thirty nine people rolled up to take part and they're all still playing.
"It does not matter if you have not played bowls before," said Councillor Jennifer Gray, Portfolio Holder for Health and Healthy Lifestyles and Community.
"The programme is about either trying bowls for the first time or getting back into the game after a long break. It is also a good way to meet new people who are also looking to get back into sport and to improve your general fitness."
Equipment will be available for anyone who does not have their own. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Anyone interested should contact Don or Sheila on 01420 83822 or Brian and Sheila on 01420 82561 or visit the Indoor Bowls Club on Chawton Park Road. Call 01420 541546 to arrange to see indoor bowls action and discover what it's all about!
