Sports Club Olympic Conference – book now!
East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) and Havant Borough Council are holding a joint Sports Conference to help local sports clubs prepare for 2012 Olympic games.
The joint conference takes place on Thursday 11th August, 7pm – 8:30pm at the East Hampshire District Council offices, Penns Place, Petersfield.
Just one year to go and so much to do! The conference will give local clubs the opportunity to join together with other sports clubs and share ideas around the Olympic activities in preparation for the games.
Barry Kitcher, Hampshire 2012 Coordinator, will be there and presentations will focus on how Hampshire can benefit from the 2012 Olympics with the benefits of Clubmark, recruiting volunteers to support clubs with Olympic activity in East Hampshire and Havant.
Councillor Fairhurst, portfolio holder for economy and communities at Havant Borough Council said: “We have been working together with our colleagues at East Hampshire and have put together a conference to support local clubs and prepare them to make the most of the opportunities that the games will open up.”
Councillor Andrew Joy, portfolio holder for community at East Hampshire District Council added; ”We are really enthusiastic about this joint event. Not only is it cost effective to have one conference for both areas, it also gives sports clubs in both areas the opportunity to meet each other and share good practice and ideas, helping them plan for 2012.”
