Beginners Running Group hailed as great success!
Hot on the heels of a successful launch in March another new beginners running group for women is to be launched in May. The groups, run for women who are looking to get fit and have fun, are managed by Jan Bull a qualified UK Athletics running coach.
Louise Christie, Active Lifestyle Co-ordinator for East Hampshire District Council, fully endorses the programme which is aimed at getting more people, more active, more often. Lousie revealed "More than 20 ladies from the Horndean area are already signed up for the latest course which shows that there is great demand for instructor-led running groups.
It also shows that many women would like to go running but simply don’t have the confidence to go on their own. Running is not only a great way to get fit and lose weight, but is also a nice way to meet other like-minded individuals.”
Enrolment for the next Women’s Running Network ten-week beginners course will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 19th Technology College. At the enrolment session ladies will be able to register for the group, meet the group leader, ask any questions and make payment. The running sessions will start the following week on Thursday 26th May, at 6pm in Horndean.
The beginners course costs £20 for the 10-weeks. People taking part will be supported throughout the course starting with walking/running drills and building up slowly, with sessions focusing on fitness and fun!
