New Buggy Walk in Bordon

New Buggy Walk in Bordon

Parents and carers can get some fresh air, enjoy the countryside and meet new friends at a new buggy walk in Bordon.

The walk takes place from Chase Children’s Centre in Bordon every week come rain or shine, it is free to attend and open to anyone with children in the local community.

The walk is part of the national Walking for Health scheme run by Natural England and co-ordinated locally by East Hampshire District Council. It is run by fully qualified Walk Leaders who make sure that the route is both safe and suitable for children and their buggies.

Louise Christie, Active Lifestyle Co-ordinator at EHDC, said: “It’s a great way to get children interested in nature from an early age. Children love being outdoors and it is so important for their development.

If children become used to enjoying the countryside from a young age, it has been proven that this is something that they will more than likely enjoy throughout their lives. Fresh air and sunshine are so important for healthy development, so as well as being fun, it is also great for keeping both children and parents healthy.”

The walk takes place every Tuesday afternoon starting at 1.30pm and lasts for about an hour. Booking isn’t necessary, just turn up on the weeks that suit.

There is plenty of free parking at the centre which is located on the same site as Bordon County Infants School. Meet outside in the courtyard at the Children’s Centre, Budds Lane, GU35 OJB.

For further information please contact Chase Children’s Centre on 01420 476 272.
