Free Fitness Trail demos continue

Free Fitness Trail demos continuefitness trail flier

The free Eco Fitness Trail demonstrations have been so popular that they will be continued throughout September and October.
The initial free sessions were only scheduled to run during August but Whitehill Town Council have decided to keep them going.

New sessions will take place every Wednesday from 8 September at 2pm. This has been timed so that parents with children at the nearby schools can take part prior to collecting them from school.
The Sunday sessions will now take place at 10am and 11am from Sunday 5 September.

The outdoor course stretches over half a mile in the recreation ground in Mill Chase Road . The trail is on Whitehil Town Council land. The calorie-busting workout includes equipment which will give users a cardiovascular boost as well as strengthening exercises. The challenges include hurdles, bench sit ups, bunny hops and parallel bars and there is also a multi-exercise bench, a balance beam and a horizontal ladder.

There are a total of 12 activities on the trail
and are being demonstrated by fitness instructors from Mill Chase Leisure Centre.

Town Mayor and EHDC Cllr Adam Carew opened the trail with sporting legend Daley Thompson, said: “There has been a fantastic turnout at these free sessions and I am delighted that the Eco Fitness Trail is so popular. This is the first ever Eco-town project to get up and running and an excellent way to enjoy the environment while getting fit.”
